Mitt Romney and Pete Wilson are now officially on the same team. Per several news reports, Mitt Romney has appointed Pete Wilson – one of the most disliked individuals by Latinos residing in California- as the “honorary chairman” of his campaign in California.

The US Supreme Court is currently reviewing the anti-Latino, anti-Immigrant Arizona law SB1070. Reportedly, the Supreme Court justices will have their ruling in July, 2012. There is much expectation – and speculation – as to how the Supreme Court justices will rule on this case.

We Latinos have significant economic power, and we need to exert it more often to our benefit. To have a definite economic influence, we must spend our money with the companies that are Latino-Friendly. We must think twice before overspending our money in companies that are Latino-Ambivalent, and we must definitely stop spending our hard-earned dollars on companies that are Latino Haters. President Obama’s assertion that we should refuse to live in fear is one statement that has resonated with me.  This statement obviously refers to our response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. I, like many Americans, want to hear this statement, especially coming from the one in charge of our nation’s safety.  I want to hear that we will be just fine; that we must move on with our daily lives and not succumb to fear.
