Economic Power and Political Influence in the Latino/Hispanic Community
We Latinos have significant economic power, and we need to exert it more often to our benefit. To have a definite economic influence, we must spend our money with the companies that are Latino-Friendly. We must think twice before overspending our money in companies that are Latino-Ambivalent, and we must definitely stop spending our hard-earned dollars on companies that are Latino Haters. Arizona SB1070 and the Supreme Court
The US Supreme Court is currently reviewing the anti-Latino, anti-Immigrant Arizona law SB1070. Reportedly, the Supreme Court justices will have their ruling in July, 2012. There is much expectation – and speculation – as to how the Supreme Court justices will rule on this case.
¿Nene Que Vas Hacer Cuando Seas Grande?
Hace unos días escuche una canción de los 80’s, lo que me trajo recuerdos de mi juventud. La canción es de Miguel Mateos, y hace la siguiente pregunta: “¿Nene, nene que vas hacer cuando seas grande? ¿Estrella de rock -n- roll? ¿Presidente de la nación?” La canción de Miguel Mateos, a mi manera de ver las cosas, propone soñar a lo grande. Y esto me hizo recordar que nosotros los latinos tenemos que soñar a lo grande si no para nosotros, para nuestros hijos y los hijos de nuestros hijos, que serán los líderes del mañana.
El Liderazgo Político Hispano: Lo Que hay, Lo Que Necesitamos
Cada vez más hispanos están tomando la batuta para afrontar y solucionar problemas que afectan a nuestra comunidad. Su liderazgo se está haciendo ver y sentir a nivel local, estatal, y nacional. Es muy alentador saber que miles y miles de latinos han decidido tomar las riendas de su destino.

Has The US Given In to Fear?
President Obama’s assertion that we should refuse to live in fear is one statement that has resonated with me. This statement obviously refers to our response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. I, like many Americans, want to hear this statement, especially coming from the one in charge of our nation’s safety. I want to hear that we will be just fine; that we must move on with our daily lives and not succumb to fear.
